www.rogerwendell.com/kgnu.html On Monday evening July 18, 2005 Boulder's Penny Lane Coffee House closed its doors forever at 11:00 pm. The following morning, at about 06:00, I was able to conduct a live KGNU interview with "Ironfeather" as he roamed Penny Lane's exterior watching the "mourners" and clean-up personnel. Earlier in the night Ironfeather posted this bit of Penny Lane information on his website: Tuesday, July 19 2005 @ 04:16 AM EDT Posted by: Stevyn Views: 2 DRiPGreets It is 2am and I just was at PennyLane Coffee house in Boulder, they closed down for ever. Right now as of 2am about 50 people are gathered outside, talking, weeping, dancing, playing guitars, banging drums. I am trying very hard not to cry myself. I worked there for 7 life changing wonderful years. At 3am (in one hour) I am starting my radio show at KGNU 88.5 FM Boulder and 1390 AM Denver, or listen online at www.KGNU.org. If you are awake at 3am-5:30am (mtn time zone) and bored then feel free to give me a call at Air Studio: 303-442-4242. Or drop me an email [available at www.kgnu.org] and I will check it through the night. I plan on telling some personal stories if I can contain my saddness, otherwise I'll be banging out some fresh mashups, bootlegs, rare tracks and whatever else I snagged from my record shelf. cheers & love to all Stevyn
