Steve took me, Shirley and Susan up Berthoud Pass to the old ski area. Temperature, at the start,
was somewhere around 2 degrees with some pretty stong gusts up on the ridge. Nevertheless, we got
a couple of good runs in and even linked a few turns - after exiting the trees!

Peaks Trail - Breckenridge to Frisco

Jan and Jim Dudley led 14 of us on a wonderful 8 mile backcountry ski trip from Breckenridge to Frisco, Colorado. The weather was nearly perfect with temperatures in the high 20s (good for those of us using Blue Extra wax!), partly cloudy skies and no wind (at all!). Both the bus ride to Breck and the Gondola ride were free - courtesy Summit County and the ski resort - to help service those who are lucky enough to live and/or work around the resort complex. The trail, itself, was beautiful and quiet - except for the occasional "leap-frog" routine with another large group from Albuquerque. The after-trip dinner was at Jan and Jim's house (for vegetarian chili) with half of us then enduring the I-70 bumper-to-bumper ride home. All in all a great day any way you measure it!
