Hey! This is just my personal page about my Todd Felix and Larry DeSaules pretty much organize and run the climbing portion of "Champ Camp" each year. Champ Camp is a wonderful environment, nestled in the Rocky Mountains near Ward, Colorado (at Glacier View Ranch), where children with asthma learn to gain confidence and control over this inflammatory condition that affects their lungs and breathing. (Although I don't know much about the disease, and its triggers, I remain highly critical of what our "modern" society has done to the air, water, and land all around us - certainly soot, smog, ozone, and chemicals can't be good for kids with Asthma or anyone else who simply wants to breath clean air. But, I digress...). Anyway, I am grateful that Todd and Larry invited me to help with a week of climbing sessions for the kids - not only was it great fun for the kids, but I believe a good learning experience for us volunteers as well - thank you! |
Note: There's a heck of a lot more to Champ Camp than what you see here - Cindy, Galen, and a host of volunteers and staff provide all kinds of great activities and learning sessions for the
kids throughout the week. Since I was mostly on top a tall rock handling ropes all week I didn't get a chance to photograph as much of it as I would have liked to but you get the idea!
